CARTESIAN MODELING - Overview

Cartesian modeling presumes input/output architecture

  • the observer is labeled with an 'e'
  • in principle, the observer has an experience of a world labeled 'W'
  • the observer proposes a model comprising Cartesian relationships among components that are considered to be objects or values "in the world"
  • the output of the model can be compared to actual behaviors in the world and potentially verify the model
  • the role of the observer in this model is the recorder of observations found "in the world" as an objective place
