A workshop on techniques for modeling conversation<\/a> will be held at CCS on the afternoon of August 14, 2016, as part of the pre-conference for\u00a0IDSA 2016<\/a>\u00a0(#IDSA2016<\/a>). The workshop is free to\u00a0all.<\/p>\n

Techniques will be offered for characterizing, capturing, and communicating the conversations that take place, implicitly or explicitly, when human beings use a product or service, or simply engage in cooperative interactions.\u00a0Questions addressed are:<\/p>\n

– What is conversation and why is it important to design?<\/p>\n

– How can the conversations inherent in the human use of products and services be captured in a useful model or diagram?<\/p>\n

– When does modeling of\u00a0conversations make for better, more humane, and ethical design outcomes?<\/p>\n
